Vineyard harriers impress in Division 5 meet

The Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School cross-country teams competed Saturday in Wrentham in the Eastern Massachusetts Division 5 meet. The Vineyard boys took eighth place of 28 teams.

Jeremy Alley-Tarter ran the 5,000-meter course in 17:00, good for 20th place. George Sykes (17:34) placed 44th and Patrick Best had a personal best 17:49 to finish 54th. Isaiah Maynard had to complete the course barefoot after getting spiked and came in 70th with a time of 17:59. Julia Neville (20:32) led the Vineyard girls, placing 31st. Grace Oslyn (21:58) was 77th and Lilly Neville (22:19) took 84th.
