Island football community scores high at auction

The Martha’s Vineyard Touchdown Club raised approximately $25,000 at its 18th annual auction held this past Saturday at the Portuguese-American Club in Oak Bluffs. The money raised will be dispersed among the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School football, cheerleading, junior high school, and youth teams.

There were 52 items up for auction. Among the highest selling items were a print by Ray Ellis and a football helmet signed by Peyton Manning.
