Arabian nights at Tisbury School

This Friday and Saturday, the Tisbury School gym will be transformed into Agrabah, the City of Enchantment, in Disney’s “Aladdin, Jr.”

The show is made up of a cast and crew of 28 seventh and eighth graders who have been rehearsing for the past three months, who will perform popular songs such as “A Whole New World,” “Arabian Nights,” and “Friend Like Me.” The lead roles are filled by Jack Creighton as Aladdin, Emily Hewson as Jasmine, Elizabeth Williamson as the Genie, Devon Teves as Jafar, Dougie Norton as the Sultan, J.P. Alves as Iago, and Taylor Hughes as the Magic Carpet. Tisbury School graduates Ben Davey and Barra Peak return as sound and lighting designers, and the show is directed by Denise Lambos, musical direction by David Arruda, and choreography by Jane Taylor.

The performances, which begin at 7 pm, are family-friendly. Admission is $7 with a cap of $20 for families of four or more. For more information, call 508-696-6500.
