Peter Sullo, the co-owner of Rocco’s Pizza in Tisbury, will lease the space formerly occupied by Lattanzi’s restaurant in Edgartown. The popular Italian restaurant closed last month. In its place, Mr. Sullo will open a new Italian restaurant, pizzeria, and bar.

“It’s exciting,” Mr. Sullo told The Times on Tuesday. “My kids are involved, which is the best part. I don’t know if I’d have done it otherwise.”

Mr. Sullo said his sons, Anthony and Nicholi Sullo, daughter Gabrielle Sullo and Max Eagan, former executive chef at Lambert’s Cove Inn & Restaurant in West Tisbury, will be working in the kitchen and restaurant.

In addition to renovating the restaurant, he said construction will begin soon on a full bar, as well as a pizzeria where individual thin-crust slices will be available all day long.

“We’re hoping to get the pizzeria off the ground in the next four to six weeks,” Mr. Sullo said. “That will be the easy part.”

In addition to renovations in the kitchen and dining room, Mr. Sullo said, there will be a whole new look and feel to the main dining room, which he hopes to open by the first week of April.

“We have some ideas. We’ll change the colors, put up some artwork, new lighting. Nothing crazy. We want to keep it simple,” he said.

Located behind the Dukes County Courthouse in downtown Edgartown, the space will be leased by Mr. Sullo from Island Realty Trust, an Edgartown based real estate investment company that bought the property for $1.75 million last month.

Mr. Sullo said he began his dealings with John Roberts 3rd, a trustee of Island Realty Trust, a few months ago and looks forward to the new business venture.
