The rock band The Martha’s Vineyard Ferries, featuring the Island-based Kahoots guitarist Elisha Wiesner, is beginning a short East Coast tour at the Katharine Cornell Theatre in Vineyard Haven on Thursday, Jan. 9, at 7 pm.

Jellybone Rivers (Rob Myers) will open for the group, which features, in addition to Mr. Wiesner, Bob Weston (Shellac, Volcano Suns, Mission of Burma) on bass guitar, and Chris Brokaw (Come, Codeine, The New Year) on drums.

Their new record, Mass. Grave, was released in October on Kiam Records. Tickets, $5, are available at the door. Check out their website for more information on the band, kiamrecords.com/the_marthas_vineyard_ferries.

A review of their latest album appeared in the October 30, 2013 edition of The Times.
