To the Editor:
Once again, I’ve been reminded how lucky we are to live in such a caring and compassionate place. After suffering a bad fall at my Chilmark home, a 911 call brought the police and wonderful Tri-Town EMTs to my rescue. They gently and carefully carried me to the waiting ambulance and delivered me to the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital emergency room. The next day, I was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital where my fractured femur was set. Five days later, I arrived back in our wonderful hospital for rehabilitation. The care I received there by all the cheerful nurses, aids, and physical therapists was the absolute best. What a team.
Thank you, thank you to all — too many to name — but you know who you are. My gratitude to you all.
