Bulls, Heat tied for RCBL lead


With the holiday break over, the RCBL resumed play with a doubleheader Monday night at the Martha’s Vineyard Boys and Girls Club in Edgartown.

Three-pointers were raining down all night long as the Bulls beat the Suns, 113-90, and the Lakers edged the first-place Heat, 80-79. The Bulls and Heat are now tied atop the standings at 5-2, while the Lakers improved to 3-4. The Suns are 1-6.

Brant Silvia poured in eight treys and 35 points to lead the Bulls. Anthony Johnson and Ben Ford scored 27 apiece. Jim Huckins chipped in 10. Jade Cash of the Suns led all players in both games, scoring 47 points. Asil Cash sank five treys and scored 31 points.

Damon Mello topped the Lakers with 26 points, followed by Sterling Bishop (21), Caleb Nicholson (11), and James Rolston (10). Tim Scott had the hot hand for the Heat with eight three-pointers and 30 points. Nick Viera scored 19 and Will Fielding added 11 more.
