Generous once again

To the Editor:

The Island has once again proven its extreme generosity in giving to our annual Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign.

We wish to thank our 13 volunteers, who donated more than 160 hours standing by our kettles, the merchants who granted us permission to place kettles in their places of business, and the many, many individuals who made contributions.

Our Island service unit is supported financially by these contributions, as all donations to these kettles are designated for local use.

Under the guidance of divisional headquarters in Canton, the Martha’s Vineyard Service Unit uses these funds entrusted to them to provide community assistance year-round, as we continue to fulfill our mission which is to “meet human needs in His name without discrimination.”

We are always striving and working toward sustaining the services we provide across Martha’s Vineyard for years to come.

If you would like more information on how we are serving and how you can help, please call us at 774-563-9436. You may also write to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1996, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568.

Please remember that needs know no season.
