Elementary string students from all Martha’s Vineyard public schools join each other on stage this Friday, Jan. 10, to present the All-Island Elementary Winter String Concert. Held in the Performing Arts Center at Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School, the free show, featuring 150 students, starts at 6:30 pm.

“Defender of Time,” a modern piece by Rob Grice, will showcase the Intermediate Orchestra. The Advanced Orchestra will perform Bill Calhoun’s “Meditation and Ritual” and Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s “Prelude to Te Deum.” Beginners will play Suzuki pieces, and the concert culminates in its traditional finale, “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.”
