To the Editor:
I just recently heard that the public has until the January 15 to write to protest the spraying of herbicides on Martha’s Vineyard, to save your company the expense of trimming plants by hand. How absurd.
Please be advised that I am amongst many who are greatly concerned by this practice on Martha’s Vineyard, particularly in view of the Island Grown Initiative, which is supplying our schools with fresh produce for our children to eat every day for lunch. How absurd.
What is most distressing is that everyone knows what the repercussions are, and you have chosen to go ahead with this very dangerous practice despite the empirical data and solidly proven facts that it is extremely dangerous for the health and welfare of humans and animals alike. Please stop immediately.
