Bulls trounce Lakers, Suns beat Heat


The Bulls ran away from the Lakers 125-79, while the Suns continued to rise from a 1-6 start with a 121-106 win over the Heat in RCBL hoops Monday night at the Boys and Girls Club in Edgartown.

The Bulls put the game out of reach early, outscoring the Lakers, 35-13, in the first quarter. Jared Silvia rang up 36 points and brother Brant had 18 for the Bulls, who improved to 7-2. Ben Ford (17 points), Matt Rivers (14), Anthony Johnson (11), and Steve Franklin (10) also reached double figures for the victors. Heath Estrella led the Lakers with 19 points, followed by Damon Mello (16), Pat Rolston (13), and Caleb Nicholson (10).

The Suns won their second straight and handed the Heat a third consecutive loss behind 44 points from Jade Cash and 32 more from Asil Cash. Matt Brown and Asa Ray added 10 points apiece. The Heat’s Nick Viera scorched the hoop for 44 points. John Neto scored 26, Lucas Brewer 18, and Matt Gebo 10.
