The Permanent Endowment for Martha’s Vineyard announced grants totaling $23,000 to eight Island organizations. The recipients are the Animal Shelter of MV, Biodiversity Works, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & The Islands, MV Community Services, Island Elderly Housing, MV Center for Living, Media Voices for Children, and Vineyard Health Care Access.
“Through these grants our wish is not only to financially support Island nonprofits, but raise awareness of the very important role they play in our community,” Anne Williamson, chairman of the Permanent Endowment, said in a press release. “With more than $8 million in assets, the fund provides grants to nonprofit organizations and funds scholarships for Vineyard students.”
Applicants for the spring grant cycle must have IRS 501 (c)(3) status and seek funding for new or continuing projects that benefit the Vineyard community. Applicant materials may be found at www.endowmv.org and must be received by February 15. All applicants will be notified of grant awards in April.
