The sixth-seeded Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School (MVRHS) boys hockey team (13-5-2) plays 11th seed Sandwich High School (8-7-3) at 6 PM Tuesday at the MV Ice Arena in the opening round of the Massachusetts Inter-Scholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) Division 2 state hockey tournament. The winner advances to second round play against either third seed Medfield or 14 seed Quincy.

At 4:30 PM on Tuesday, the third-seeded Vineyarder boys varsity basketball team (16-4) hosts 14-seed Norwell High School (10-10) at MVRHS in Division 3 MIAA tournament play. The winner gets either six seed Wareham (15-5) or 11 seed East Bridgewater (10-10) on Thursday at 6:30 PM at a site to be announced.

The 11th-seeded MVRHS girls basketball team (11-9)  begins play Wednesday at sixth-seeded Coyle & Cassidy (15-3) at 5 PM in Taunton. The winner will play either three seed Norwell (19-3) or 14 seed Dedham (4-16) on Friday night at 6:30 PM in a site to be announced.

The MVRHS girls varsity hockey team begins state hockey tournament play against Algonquin Regional High School (9-7-4) on Thursday at 4:30 PM at the MV Ice Arena. The Vineyarders (11-6-3) enter play as Eastern Athletic Conference champs.
