The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory early Sunday, in effect from 6 pm Sunday evening through noon on Monday for Martha’s Vineyard.
“A cold front will push through New England today and stall well south of the region tonight,” according to the weather service. “Low pressure will move along the front, brushing the south coast with accumulating snow.”
Forecasters predict 2 to 4 inches of snow, beginning with snow showers in the afternoon. The heaviest snowfall will be in the early morning hours of Monday.
Temperatures will be in the low 20s, with winds from the north at 10 to 20 miles per hour. Colder weather will follow the snowstorm, with temperatures ranging much colder than normal into the middle of next week, according to the advisory.
