A matter of pronunciation

To the Editor:

My late wife, Nancy Orazem, was a German and French teacher at the regional high school for 15 years and had formally studied linguistics. She was a native of Boston and reveled in the accent she grew up with there. She would have loved the name of the new Asian restaurant at the Mansion House, the Copper Wok.

I think she would have pronounced it the same as the shuttered movie theater a block away on Main Street.

Visitors from Boston who plan to meet their friends “in front of the Copper Wok” may be in for a long wait.
