Interscholastic volleyball begins


The interscholastic volleyball season got underway last week. The host Tisbury Tigers won a five-set thriller over the Edgartown Eagles on March 5. Tisbury took the first two sets 25-9, 25-19. Edgartown bounced back, winning the third set 25-21 and the fourth 25-14 to send the match to a tie-breaker, where the Tigers prevailed 15-11.

In the other opener, played on March 6, the Oak Bluffs Blazers traveled to West Tisbury and beat the Hawks three sets to one.

All four teams are in action on March 13. Edgartown visits West Tisbury, while Oak Bluffs hosts Tisbury.
