Stacy Marie Viera died at her home on Tuesday, March 11. She was 53.
Stacy was born in Oak Bluffs on October 18, 1960, to John S. Viera Jr. and Beatrice Duart Viera.
She lived on the Island her entire life. She graduated from Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School in 1978 and worked for the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital for more than 30 years.
Stacy loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, as well as her large circle of friends. She also enjoyed relaxing in the Caribbean on her vacations and with her friends on State Beach. She was very involved with the VFW and P-A Club and was a passionate fundraiser for both. She loved crocheting blankets and putting together baskets of goodies to be auctioned.
Stacy is survived by her son, Joshua Cotterill; her daughter, Amy
Cotterill Toth and her husband Chris; and granddaughters, Julianna
and Roslyn Toth. She is also survived by her mother, Beatrice Viera, her sisters and brothers in law, Bertie and Donald Madeiras and Debbie and Lewie Reis.
Stacy was a very giving and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, March 22, from 11 am to 12 noon, at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home. A celebration of Stacy’s life will immediately follow at the P-A Club. Please bring a dish to share and any photos you might have showing Stacy enjoying life.
