Susie Bowman, Felix Neck teacher and naturalist, and Fred Hotchkiss, Director of the Marine Paleobiological Research Institute, will introduce you to these ancient marine residents of Martha’s Vineyard. Then you can sign up to be a citizen science volunteer to help count spawning horseshoe crabs on lunar high tides in May and June.

Our library is offering two more programs in the America’s Music series at the Katharine Cornell Theater. These are free and will be on Wednesday evenings, next week and April 9. Next Wednesday at 7 pm enjoy an evening with the Flying Elbows string band and Jemima James. Jemima James has been playing and singing American folk and traditional music all over the island and around the nation for decades, accompanying herself on her classic Gibson Hummingbird model guitar. The Vineyard’s own Flying Elbows old-timey fiddle band consists of Tom Hodgson, Nancy Jephcote, Bob Hammond, Brian Weiland, and Paul Thurlow. They have kept the Island tapping their toes with American traditional music for decades.

Have you met with our Senator Dan Wolf? He will be at the Chowder House in Oak Bluffs next Wednesday from 5 to 7 pm just to meet and greet constituents. This is your chance to tell him what you think about the issues and share your thoughts with friends.

You are invited this Saturday to the grand opening of the West Tisbury Public Library at 10 am. Celebrate the completion of the new library that nearly everyone in the town, in one way or another, has had a hand in shaping.
