The Martha’s Vineyard Figure Skating Club will present its annual ice show, “Olympic Dreams,” on Saturday, April 5, at 6 pm and Sunday, April 6, at 1 pm at the Martha’s Vineyard Arena.
The show begins with a piece entitled “The Road to the Olympics,” followed by an opening ceremony with a parade of athletes skating to Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way.”
The skaters will perform a variety of numbers with an Olympic theme, including “Double McTwist” (snowboardng), “Super G” (skiing), “Night Train” (bobsledding), “Miracle on Ice” (hockey), and “Ice Castles” (figure skating).
United States men’s national competitor Alex Aiken is back for a fourth year as the featured guest skater. Vineyard soloists include Amanda Bernard, Sally Caron, Lilly Davey, Sarah Thomas, and Megan Zeilinger.
Skaters from the MVFSC Freestyle, Bridge, Learn To Skate, and Snowplow Sam Tots will all perform. Mascot Snowplow Sam the bear will also be there.
