Shamrocks beat MV girls in lacrosse opener

Bishop Feehan broke open a 6-6 tie, scoring 10 of the next 12 goals to pull away for a 16-8 win over the Vineyard girls lacrosse team in the season and Eastern Athletic Conference opener Tuesday at Dan McCarthy Field in Oak Bluffs.

Lucy Hackney scored three goals, Aubrey Ashmun had a goal and two assists, and Emily deBettencourt tallied one goal and one assist. Belle Dinning, Zoi Listro, and Olivia Ogden scored a goal apiece. Charlotte McCarron had two assists.

Samantha Hargy was strong in net with 19 saves.
