The Martha’s Vineyard Shellfish Group hosts its third annual Shellfish Extravaganza and Chowder Contest this Saturday, April 12, at the Chilmark Community Center.

The contest begins at 6 pm, where attendees can taste chowders prepared by Island restaurants and chefs such as Lure Grill, The Black Dog Tavern, Henry’s at the Harbor View, Lucky Hank’s, Herring Run Kitchens and Provisions, Atria, The Beach Plum, and The Newes From America. There will also be a $1 raw bar.

Then, enjoy music by Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish while perusing silent auction items. Admission is $25, and tickets are available at Martha’s Closet in Vineyard Haven or online at mvshellfishgroup.org.
