Vineyard boys top Fairhaven, fall to Stang in lacrosse

Tyler Paulson made a triumphant return to the Vineyard boys varsity lacrosse lineup following a two-week absence due to illness, scoring three goals and winning 15 of 21 faceoffs in a 12-7 win at Fairhaven Monday.

Sam Burke netted three goals to go with three assists. Taymon Brown had three goals and two assists, Mike Morris scored a brace, and Spencer Schofield scored once.

April 10 in Oak Bluffs, the Vineyarders fell to Eastern Athletic Conference rival Bishop Stang, 10-6. Sam Burke and Mike Morris scored three goals apiece, while Taymon Brown added two assists.

The Spartans fired 30 shots on the Vineyard cage. Eli Lakin made 13 saves through the first two quarters and Cooper Wilson had seven more in quarters three and four.

The Vineyarders (3-2, 1-1 EAC) host Nauset Saturday at 2 pm.
