M.V. girls down Coyle Cassidy in lacrosse

After losses to Marblehead and Scituate, the girls bounced back Tuesday with a big 13-2 Eastern Athletic Conference win over Coyle Cassidy of Taunton at Dan McCarthy Field.

Issy Smith had a huge game, scoring four goals to go with three assists. Aubrey Ashmun excelled in midfield with three goals and one assist. Lee Hayman had one goal and set up four others. Molly Houghton notched a pair of goals; Charlotte McCarron picked up a goal and an assist; Zoe Listro and Belle Dining had a goal apiece; and Emily deBettencourt added one assist. Coach Betsy Dripps cited Olivia Ogden as the game’s outstanding player for her standout defense.

The girls followed up the win over the Warriors by defeating visiting Pembroke 14-7 on Wednesday. Charlotte McCarron was the high scorer with four goals and one assist, followed by Lee Hayman (three goals, three assists), Issy Smith (three goals, one assist), and Emily deBettencourt (one goal, two assists). Belle Dinning and Zoe Listro each scored once and Sara Poggi added an assist.

Olivia Ogden, Alex Clark, KC Wallace, Emma Yuen and Katrina Lakis were defensive standouts and goalie Sam Hargy made three big saves in the opening minutes.
