Well-known Island chef Josh Aronie will take over the kitchen at the Home Port restaurant in Menemsha, which will open for its 84th year on May 20.

“I plan to source as much local food as I can, a lot of vegetables,” Mr. Aronie said. “I will put my own spin, my style into the menu.”

This past winter Mr. Aronie served breakfast and lunch from a food truck called The Food Truck in the parking lot of the Chilmark Store at Beetlebung Corner. The Food Truck closed for the season last Friday. He plans to reopen the truck in the fall.

Mr. Aronie is the former owner of the Menemsha Café and most recently was the chef at Café Moxie in Vineyard Haven, which was recently sold.
