The Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce announced the winners of the 2014-15 Island Book cover art contest. All sixth graders were invited to submit their creations based on the themes Island art or food.

The imaginative, creative, and colorful artwork challenged the judges who had the difficult task of selecting only six entries out of a total of 105. This year’s winners are: Julia Dostal, Tisbury School; Chloe Hoff, Martha’s Vineyard Public Charter School; Kieran Karabees, West Tisbury School; Emily McKeon, Edgartown School; Vivian Surprenant, Oak Bluffs School; and Megan Zeilinger, Oak Bluffs School.

Each winner will receive a $100 U.S. Savings Bond, in addition to having his or her entry appear on the cover of the 2014-15 Island Book, a production of the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce.

Island Books will be available May 19 at the Chamber of Commerce, 24 Beach Street, Vineyard Haven, and at more than 25 locations around the Island, including all banks.
