Boys lacrosse beats Fairhaven, makes state tourney

The boys varsity lacrosse team won on senior day and clinched a berth in the state tournament, Tuesday at Dan McCarthy Field, defeating Fairhaven, 9-6. Greg McCarron led the Vineyard offense with three goals and two assists. Tony Canha scored two goals, while Sam Burke had a goal to go with two assists. Tyler Paulson and Spencer Schofield each had a goal and an assist. Matt Davies had one goal. Goaltenders Austin Fournier and Cooper Wilson had three saves apiece.

The boys followed up the big win by defeating Pembroke 9-8 on Wednesday.
