My heart goes out to the friends and family of Alexandro Garcia, 22, of Springfield for the loss they must accept and learn to live with. Equally my heart goes out to the driver and two passengers of the pick-up truck who must go on living their lives while they adjust to living with this darkness. I hope signs, like the one in front of Mermaid Farm that read, “Drive like your children live here,” will help drivers slow down and everyone using the roads to stop at the STOP signs, wear reflective gear in the dark and to mind the rules. Be safe, be mindful and enjoy summer.
