The annual Oak Bluffs fireworks display on Friday night, August 22, is expected to attract thousands of people to Oak Bluffs. With road closures in place and parking in short supply, the Steamship Authority has announced plans to divert two boats scheduled to arrive and depart Oak Bluffs to Vineyard Haven. The freight boat Sankaty, scheduled to depart Woods Hole at 6:30 pm for Oak Bluffs and depart Oak Bluffs at 7:30 pm, and the ferry Martha’s Vineyard, scheduled to depart Woods Hole at  7:30 pm for Oak Bluffs and depart Oak Bluffs at 8:30 pm, will arrive and depart in Vineyard Haven.
