The Hope Strengthens Foundation will host its second annual Roast and Raise on Saturday, Oct. 4th, from 1 pm to 5 pm at the Tisbury Spring Building. The classic pig roast “with all the fixings” is held to raise awareness and support for community members facing hardship as a result of serious illness or injury. The Hope Strengthens Foundation is a 100% volunteer-run public charity founded by longtime friends James Fahey and Jacob Ferreira in 2010. Its roots were established when a mutual friend, Joe Merry, valiantly battled against and beat cancer. Donations of food, beverages, raffle items, and auction prizes are welcome. To make a donation, call 888-880-7677. Tickets are $40 for adults, $20 for ages 17 and under, and free for children 3 and under. They can be purchased at hopestrengthens.eventbrite.com.
