To the Editor:
On Saturday, October 25, we were blessed with another sunny, successful electronics disposal day on the Martha’s Vineyard Community Services (MVCS) campus.
We appreciate everyone who came out to help us raise funds for our MVCS programs. Thank you to the staff, the board, and the community for supporting our agency and for dumping their electronics responsibly. A heartfelt thank you to our sponsor, Bruno’s, and especially Scott Carroll, who truly put more than his fair share of energy into the day, helping us to streamline and organize prior to the event, as well as sticking with us all day long to ensure items were disposed of correctly.
Thank you as well to our incredible volunteers: Community Corrections (thanks to Brian Kennedy), the MVRHS Boys JV Football Team (thanks to Coach Bishop), the MVRHS Boys Hockey Team (thanks to Coach Mincone), the MVRHS Student Council (thanks to Olson Houghton), those from the Edgartown School (thanks to Eric Butler) and our fabulous staff members (Amy Custis, Debbie Milne, and Jessica Roberto) and board (Wiet Bacheller, Dianne Durawa, Bob Egerton, John Kennedy, June Manning, and Diane Smadbeck), many of whom brought significant others, friends and/or their children to assist as well.
We hope to see you at our next Electronics Disposal Day in Spring of 2015. Check back in March for the spring date. Start collecting those items – we will be here to reduce the clutter in an environmentally friendly way once again!
A huge thank you from the entire agency.
