The 2014-15 Interscholastic basketball season tipped off Tuesday afternoon with the Tisbury Tigers playing the Oak Bluffs Blazers in girls and boys action. The boys took to the court at the Oak Bluffs School, while the girls played at the Tisbury School gym.

The boys game proved to be a showcase for Tisbury’s Dylan Dyke, who excelled at both ends of the court. Dylan scored 31 points and swatted down numerous Blazer shots as the defending champion Tigers posted a 47-23 win. Owen Porterfield also reached double figures for Tisbury with 11 points. For the Cottage City dwellers, Aidan Araujo scored eight points, Jared Regan had seven, and Jeremy Regan netted six.

The Oak Bluffs girls, meanwhile, turned the tables on Tisbury, taming the Tigers, 44-12. Sascha Lakis led Oak Bluffs with 18 points. Bella Arias added 10 more. Kya Maloney scored six for Tisbury and Skyla Harthcock had four.
