Shore fish outweighed boat fish in Dick’s tourney

The shore fishermen had the advantage in Dick’s Bait and Tackle’s 23rd annual Memorial Day weekend derby. A total of 48 fishermen entered the contest. Stiff winds and cool temperatures were no barrier for some of the Island’s hardiest fishermen. The results are as follows:

Boat bass: 1. Michael Tompkins (17.42), 2. Wally Tomkins (15.24), 3. Keith Olsen (13.50). Shore bass: 1. Pam Silvia (19.79), 2. Bob Jacobs (18.36), 3. Pat Toomey (17.29).

Boat blue: 1. Bill Potter (8.34), 2. Silvia Wheeler (8.10), 3. Mike Tomkins (7.03). Shore blue: 1. Jim Cornwell (9.90), 2. Greg Williams (8.15), 3. Steph Pond (7.75).
