The annual Oak Bluffs Tree Lighting event is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 6:30 pm in Post Office Square. The Vineyard Classic Brass band will play traditional carols, and Oak Bluffs selectmen’s chairman Mike Santoro will light the tree, signaling the start of another holiday season.

Students from the Oak Bluffs School, working under the direction of art teacher Kim O’Connor, will unveil works of art to be featured in Circuit Avenue windows throughout the holiday season and winter months.

A gathering will follow featuring the Brian Weiland Band, hot chocolate, antlers, and a visit by Santa in the Oak Bluffs fire truck.

The event is free, but everyone is asked to bring a donation to the Island Food Pantry. In case of rain, the event will take place in the walkway between Sharky’s and the Locker Room on Circuit Ave. For more information, visit oakbluffsmv.com.
