Oak Bluffs rang in the holidays with their annual Post Office Square tree lighting on Wednesday, Dec. 2, but the celebration doesn’t end there. On Saturday, Dec. 5, the Oak Bluffs Association will host family holiday events all day long.

The Holiday Oak Bluffs Open Market will be at the Ocean View Restaurant from 10 am to 3 pm, complete with a variety of Island vendors and music by John O’Toole. There will be opportunities for Christmas-card portrait sessions, as well as pet portraits with Santa.

Horsedrawn hayrides around Cottage City will leave from in front of the Strand Theater between noon and 3 pm. All are welcome to join in the Puppet Parade at the foot of Circuit Avenue at 2 pm. Then, warm up inside cozy Offshore Ale Co. between 2 and 4 pm for free cookie decorating, ornament making, and caroling.

It’s also a good time to get your shopping done. Thirty-plus Oak Bluffs businesses are offering a free raffle entry with every purchase made before Dec. 21 — the winner could win a $25 gift certificate.
