Vineyard Youth Tennis (VYT) had two winners this past weekend, and one finalist. Kat Roberts took the girls 18 and under level 7 tournament at the Brown Billone Club in South Yarmouth, winning her sets 6-0, 6-2, 6-0.

Lizzie Williamson won the girls 16 and under level 7 tournament by scores of 6-2, 6-2, 6-1. Kelly Klaren lost in the final of the girls 14 and under level 6 tournament in North Easton.

In other tennis news, longtime VYT tennis instructor Nina Bramhall has left VYT. Over the course of seven years, Ms. Bramhall was instrumental in the development of many of the girls who played on the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School 2015 state championship team. She is looking forward to coaching the high school girl’s team this season along with co-coach Liz Roberts. “Nina was a very popular instructor during her time at VYT, and the kids loved being on her court,” said VYT executive director Scott Smith. “She will be missed.”

VYT has hired Eric Pease of Falmouth. Mr. Pease has worked at some prestigious tennis clubs throughout the U.S., according to a press release.
