The Martha’s Vineyard Camp Meeting Association announced the appointment of C.J. Rivard of Edgartown as their new executive director, effective May 9, 2016. According to a press release, Ms. Rivard will fill the vacancy created by the departure of Ron MacLaren in April. She brings over 25 years of executive management and marketing experience to the position.

“We are very pleased to announce this appointment,” stated Jeff Ferriell, president of the MVCMA board and professor of law at Capital University Law School. “C.J. brings a strong executive skill set to the position, along with an enthusiasm for customer service and community building, which is a good fit for our organization. We are looking forward to our upcoming summer season and many years ahead under her leadership.”

Ms. Rivard has been a member of the Martha’s Vineyard business community since moving to the Island for a position at the Harbor View Hotel in 1993. She was general manager of the former Colonial Inn in Edgartown for over a decade, and prior to this appointment ran her own marketing agency. She is currently a member of the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce, a volunteer for Special Olympics Martha’s Vineyard, and on the board of C.E.O., Martha’s Vineyard.

“I have always loved the Campground,” remarked Ms. Rivard. “It has such an interesting and unique history that contributes to the culture and community there today. I am looking forward to being a part of it!”
