Peapod launches pilot service on Martha’s Vineyard

Peapod, the country’s leading online grocer, will be offering Islanders the convenience of online grocery shopping. According to a press release, Peapod will be offering online grocery delivery to Oak Bluffs, Tisbury, West Tisbury, and Edgartown (excluding Chappaquiddick). Pilot service will launch Tuesday, June 21, and run through Sept. 1. Delivery will be available twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 am to 1 pm. The delivery fee is $6.95 to $9.95, plus a $10 ferry fee.

“We know online grocery delivery can be a huge convenience and timesaver for customers seeking to maximize their summer vacation time,” said Peg Merzbacher, vice president of regional marketing for Peapod. “In partnership with Stop and Shop and the Steamship Authority, we’re looking forward to providing shoppers with the additional option of door-to-door delivery service for when it fits their needs.”
