Hillary Clinton will visit Martha’s Vineyard on Saturday, August 20, for a summer reception at the home of Frank and Carol Biondi of Edgartown as part of a Massachusetts swing that will include stops in Provincetown and Nantucket.
Ms. Clinton raised $63 million in July for her presidential campaign, according to published reports. In addition to funds for her campaign, she brought in another $26 million last month for the Democratic National Committee and state parties, bringing her total monthly fundraising to about $90 million.
Tickets to the Vineyard fundraiser sell for $27,000 (host ), $2,700 (fighter) and $1,000 (advocate). The $27,000 ticket buys some face time with Ms. Clinton.
A fundraising email sent to supporters said, “This is a breathtaking moment in history as we stand on the shoulders of giants who have fought for liberty and justice and for every courageous progressive movement that has preceded us.”
Island host committee members include Bonnie and Merle Berger, Carol and Frank Biondi, Lynn Forester de Rothschild, Jill and Ken Iscol, Rosabeth Moss Kanter, Barbara Lee, Nancy and Chuck Parrish, Linda Whitlock, and Marc Cumsky. The Biondis hosted a fundraiser for Ms. Clinton last year as well.
Ms. Clinton’s visit will coincide with the vacation plans of the First Family. The Obamas will arrive on Saturday, August 6, and depart Sunday, August 21.
