To the Editor:

This is what greets you at Lucy Vincent Beach after the snow melt on Wednesday, Jan. 10. I’m not sure who these picked-up-after-their-dog walkers believe will remove their leftovers. If you’re going to leave your s—, you should have to pay, like when you have trash removed. We could install a collection box next to a lined trash can for deposits. Perhaps these individuals believe their tax dollars should cover this removal, and if enough s— piles up, someone will make it their job, whether they get paid or not, to take care of the s— they left behind. If the sign reads “Take Your Trash With You,” then no one reads signs.

What strikes me is the similarity to politics. We agree on signs and methods until someone comes along and s—- on these things. And the rest of us just have to live with their freeloading s—, like we’re only here as consumer widgets to clean up their s—. They say the biggest s— storm in history is picking up wind in our direction. Don’t let distraction rule your actions. Be conscious. Be kind. And don’t forget to get rid of your own s—.
