On Thursday, March 30, George Brennan joined The Martha’s Vineyard Times as news editor.

Mr. Brennan most recently curated the “Talking Points” newsletter for the Boston Globe, a daily wrapup of the day’s top business news. Prior to that, he was a bureau chief and reporter for the Cape Cod Times, where he covered the Upper Cape, casinos, and Joint Base Cape Cod. You may have heard him on WCAI, where he has been a frequent contributor to the news roundup.

Mr. Brennan is back to his roots as a weekly newspaper editor. He started his career at MPG Newspapers in Plymouth, where he was employed for 19 years, working his way up to the group’s managing editor.

“I’m excited and energized to join the staff of The Martha’s Vineyard Times,” Mr. Brennan said. “I’m looking forward to learning about life on the Island, and meeting more of the interesting people who make the Vineyard so unique.”

Mr. Brennan is the husband of Corinne, and has two children, Josephine, 18, and Tommy, 16.
