Girls in ball gowns and boys in tuxes with color-coordinated bow ties invaded Polly Hill Arboretum on Saturday, May 20. It was pre-prom picture time, the warm-up to the main event: the MVRHS junior prom at Lola’s.
Groups of friends wandered over the beautifully landscaped grounds, pausing for photos and admiring their classmate’s outfits. Corsages and boutonnieres were in their element against a backdrop of blooming rhododendrons.
“That was definitely my favorite part of prom; I loved taking pictures with everyone, and getting to see everyone so dressed up and having a good time,” said junior Rose Capobianco. “If anything, I wish there was more time for photos.”
After gathering at Polly Hill, it was off to the dance. People crowded into the cars that were parked alongside the road, stretching back almost to the Ag Hall, and headed down-Island to dance the night away at Lola’s.
