Each team started out strong, scoring three runs apiece in the first inning. Cassandra Silva snared two quick outs at second base to start the game, but some bases on balls and a run-scoring base hit by Cayden Bresett produced three runs for the visiting Vieras.

The Manters also came up with three in the bottom of the inning, highlighted by base hits by Christian Turner and Wyatt Loughman. Nick Carpenter, the Vieras’ pitcher, closed the door with a strikeout and ground out.

The Vieras took a big lead with a four-run fourth, highlighted by an Izzy Blake double and Noah Manning single, making the score 10-4. But the Manters fought back, scoring four in the bottom of the fourth, with hits by Wyatt Loughman and Claus Smith, and a big double from Cassandra.

After a single run by the Vieras in top of the fifth, the Manters tied it up in the bottom of the inning with four more runs, including a monster double by Cassandra that reached the left field fence. Claus followed up with another hit, knocking her in.

After relinquishing one more run to the Vieras in the top of the sixth, the Manters ended the game with a bases-loaded walk.

Other notable plays and players for the Vieras included Jacoby Light, with two base hits and a stellar nine-pitch third inning. William Nicholson made a highlight-reel catch, and Leo Napior had a lights-out pitching performance in the second inning.

For the Manters, Lathrop Keene was strong for two innings on the mound, and Eli Bryant made two strong catches in the outfield and at third base. Cassandra Silva secured several big catches and three clutch hits.
