State Rep. Dylan Fernandes, who represents the Barnstable, Dukes, and Nantucket District, will be the guest of the Democratic Council of Martha’s Vineyard on July 8 from 9-10:30 am. The meeting will be held at the Howes House (Up-Island Council of Aging), across from Alley’s General Store and near the West Tisbury library.
Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey is also scheduled to attend and give a brief speech.
Topics for this meeting are set to include legislation particular to the Vineyard, as well as information regarding the 2018 midterm elections. Some key issues for Mr. Fernandes include the heroin/opioid epidemic, mandatory illicit-bias training for law enforcement officers, effects of climate change and ocean acidification, and affordable housing, according to M.V.
