It’s the Year of the Dog, and Featherstone is celebrating with its first gallery show of 2018. On Sunday, Feb. 11, doors open for “Dog Wild” at 12 pm, an exhibit displayed in the Francine Kelly Gallery in the new Art Barn through March 4. But before opening, the community arts center needs the help of artists and dog lovers alike.
Submit a painting, photograph, print, ceramic, or sculpture of your pampered pooch, or somebody else’s, for the opportunity to see it for what it really is — a work of art. Drop-off dates are on Tuesday, Feb. 6, and Wednesday, Feb. 7, between 10 am and 4 pm. Framed work must be wired for hanging, and bins will be available for unframed art. The gallery guarantees to hang at least two pieces per artist.
All are welcome, including your four-legged friend. There will be treats for pups and refreshments for people, and a photo booth to capture the moments. Expect a few surprises too. The gallery is open from 12 to 4 pm every day. For more information, visit featherstoneart.org, or contact Kate Hancock at email@example.com.
