Monday night at 7:30 pm, Chilmark voters will face eight Proposition 2½ override articles totaling $171,136.76. The article assessments are intended to fund items ranging from the Tri-Town operating budget to the Dukes County Regional Emergency Communications Center. They are contingent on the successful passage of ballot questions at the annual town election two days later, on Wednesday. Elsewhere on the warrant, voters will weigh whether or not to fork over $24,000 for a new roof for town hall, $15,000 for a new roof for the North Road fire station, and $2,500 to reshingle a side of the police station. Voters will be given the opportunity to fund $10,000 worth of consultant Bill Brewster’s Menemsha Traffic Plan, and dedicate $80,000 for “road construction of the Menemsha Hill Triangle.”

With the final article on the warrant, Chilmark will choose to increase the permissible square footage of a guest house from 800 square feet to 1,200 square feet.

Town moderator Everett Poole will preside over the meeting.
