The third Martha’s Vineyard License Plate low-numbered charitable online auction is here just in time for the holidays. The top 10 most popular remaining plates, excluding 1 through 5 and 100, will be placed in December’s auction.

An online survey has been circulated, and will be open until Thursday, Nov. 29, for the public to select plates they wish to see in auction three.

The 10 plates up for auction will be available at a buy-it-now price of $10,000. Each plate will have a starting bid of $2,000 to $2,500, based on demand, and will be awarded to the highest bidder.

To date, Martha’s Vineyard License Plate low-number charitable auctions have brought in $146,600 for Martha’s Vineyard Community Services and other Island charities that benefit youth and seniors.

In keeping with the agency’s community-minded spirit, MVCS has committed to donating 20 percent of annual net proceeds from the license plate program to other Island nonprofits through the Martha’s Vineyard Community Services Driving the Future Charitable Fund, a collaborative effort between MVCS and the Permanent Endowment for Martha’s Vineyard. This year’s grant recipients included Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Cape and the Islands and Island Elderly Housing.
