Silent majority is heard from

To the Editor:

Both papers seemed to intimate before the override vote that more money for the Oak Bluffs Town Hall would pass without question. But here’s the difference. We won’t be bullied. Oak Bluffs taxpayers who have been here since the `60s and `70s (and before) won’t be bullied. We remember more austere times and won’t allow for excess for the sake of change. The old Oak Bluffs town hall now serves our police force just fine. The old Oak Bluffs school serves the Catholic and many other communities just fine. The Oak Bluffs town hall isn’t so bad. Go visit Tisbury’s and feel grateful. So stop the spending and be aware that the absent, silent no-shows at special town meetings really can vote their different opinions and make a sound difference.

  1. I’m sure if the liberals think this thru carefully they can come up with some sort of nefarious motive from those recalcitrant voters.
