Take
a trip back in time to the 1950s with poodle skirts and
bobby sox this weekend when the West Tisbury School presents
a nostalgic musical, "Rock 'N' Roll."
Billed as an hilarious, romantic, and action-filled romp,
the show takes place at Herbert Hoover High School with
characters like Coomdoggie, dream girl Betsy Lou, head cheerleader
Darlene, and troublemaker Forrest Barrett. A cast of more
than 31 West Tisbury students from grades six through eight
will bring these colorful characters to life.
Getting the most out of the script and the students are
director Treather Gassmann, musical director Hilary Pitha,
and choreographer Holly Vagas. The students in Valerie Becker's
technology class have designed and produced the posters
and programs while the set is the product of Melissa Breese,
Dan Johnson, and the West Tisbury School art classes.
For a rockin' good time in the theater, don't miss "Rock
'N' Roll."
"Rock 'N' Roll" at the West Tisbury School, Old
County Road, April 1, 2 at 7 pm. Tickets: $7 adults, $5
students, $25 cap for families. 508-696-7738.
