Landscape art in Chilmark

“Changing Seasons” is the theme of Chilmark artist Gloria Burkin's exhibit of her latest landscape paintings, which opens this weekend at the Bank of Martha's Vineyard in Chilmark. The show kicks off with a reception Saturday, April 30, 3 to 5 pm. The paintings will be on display until May 25 during bank hours.

These oil paintings include lush views of land and water, with a focus on up-Island scenes, and a new collection of work based on the seasonal change of the ocean and shoreline. “Each season has its own unique beauty, and the light's luminous quality that comes from being surrounded by water is ever-changing,” says the artist.

For information, call Gloria Burkin at (508) 645-9026.
