Shorts May 26, 2005 Plants, People, and Opportunities Volunteers are very important people at The Polly Hill Arboretum (PHA), and as the arboretum grows, volunteer opportunities continue to increase. On Thursday, June 2, from 1 to 4 pm join Volunteer Coordinator Nancy Weaver and other PHA staff for an across-the-board introduction to the many ways you can become involved at the PHA. Learn the history of the property, tour the plant collections, and take a look at what goes on behind the scenes. Many of the Arboretum’s most valuable volunteers got their feet wet with this popular class and went on to be trained through the Volunteer Program. For more information, call 508-693-9426. The Polly Hill Arboretum will be closed all day Saturday, June 4 for a private event. The grounds will reopen Sunday morning at 7 am, and the Visitor Center will open at 9:30 am, with a guided tour offered at 2 pm. |
